This café is just as the name describes: comfort at your table. It has all the elements of a great café: a cheerful atmosphere, amazing food and to top it off, finding street parking on weekend was a breeze.
Comfort puts a lot of emphasis on just that, customer comfort. My first visit was during winter and I was freezing outside while waiting for the food to come. Thankfully we spotted a basketful of throws near the entrance for customers to use. I borrowed one, rugged up and waited comfortably for my food to come.
One of the fun items on the drinks menu was the BOWL of coffee or chocolate ($6-7). We saw other customers order it and were tempted to try it out.
Yes, it was MASSIVE and a little bit messy to drink without getting chocolate on your face and hands, but nevertheless FUN. This is definitely not for the fainthearted.
On this visit I ordered one of the specials of the day: Waffles with Mango, Banana, Passionfruit and Lime Curd ($16). The waffles were crispy outside, soft inside and with fresh fruit, very refreshingly yummy. I can see this becoming more popular during the hot summer months.
D had the Egg Benedict ($13.80) with an extra side of Roasted Chats ($4). Everything tasted good but the roasted chats stood out. In D’s exact words, they were ‘deliciously lemony and salty’. We would have been satisfied with just a big bowl of the potatoes.
This is definitely our favourite café in town and dare I say the best in Brisbane. We have been there twice and both times very satisfied with the food. We will certainly be back again.
