Grand Taj

After being scarred by a bad experience with Indian food last year, I have intentionally avoided it for nearly a year now. When my in-laws invited us for dinner at their favourite Indian restaurant, I knew I had to overcome the trauma and give it another go.

We headed to Grand Taj at Metroplex Complex in Carindale.

There wasn’t any hassle in ordering as we decided to go for the banquet meal ($30.90). The banquet includes a selection of entrees (Tandoori Chicken, Onion Pakoras, Potato Bhondas, Vegetable Samosa and Meat Samosa), one Large curry per person, Saffron rice, any selection of naan, Yoghurt and Cucumber Raita, Pappadams and Gulab Jamoon (Dessert).

For mains, we ordered Butter Chicken, Chicken Ceylon, Beef Vindaloo and Lamb Badami.

There was definitely no lack of food on the table. Everything was tasty and the curries were well cooked with tender meat.

The banquet meal was definitely fit for a king (or queen). We had more than enough food for the night and even left with some take away boxes for lunch the next day.
